In short
- You can play the whole game without an account. Nothing is sent to our server unless you choose to sign up or open the leaderboard.
- If you add a name and mobile number, we use them for cloud backup, restoring on a new device and the leaderboard. Your mobile number is stored only as a one-way hash.
- The game shows ads from Google AdMob. In the EEA, UK and similar regions, you choose your ad privacy settings in a Google consent form.
- We do not sell your personal data.

1. Who we are
Zip Quest: Grid Fill Saga (the “app”) is published by Zealyen Infotech (“we”, “us”). We are the controller of the personal data described here. Contact details are in section 13.
2. What we collect
| Data | When | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|
| Game data: levels cleared, stars, best times, coins, daily streak, settings (sound, music, vibration, theme) | Always, while you play | On your device only, unless you create an account |
| Name (username) and mobile number | Only if you choose “Back up & join leaderboard” or restore an account | Our server. The number is stored as a hash (see section 4) |
| Backup data: your highest level, stars and best time per level, streak, last daily puzzle date, coins | After you create an account, each time you set a new best | Our server |
| Leaderboard information: username, total stars, daily streak, total time | If you have an account | Our server. Shown publicly to other players |
| Sign-in token | When you create or restore an account | On your device. Only a hash is kept on our server |
| Technical data: IP address and request time | When the app contacts our server (leaderboard, sign-up, backup, restore) | Server logs. Failed sign-in attempts are also recorded with your IP to block guessing attacks |
| Ad and device data: advertising ID, IP address, device and app information | When ads load or are shown | Collected by Google AdMob (see section 5) |
We do not ask for your location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera. The app requests only internet access, network state and vibration permissions. Ad services from Google may add the advertising ID permission.
The app has no analytics or crash-reporting tools of its own. The sounds and music are generated on your device and cached locally.
3. How we use it
- To run the game: save progress, calculate stars and streaks, and show levels.
- To provide the optional account: back up and restore progress, and rank you on the leaderboard.
- To keep the service safe: limit repeated failed sign-ins and prevent abuse.
- To show ads that keep the game free, through Google AdMob.
- To meet legal obligations and respond to your requests.
Our legal bases, where they apply, are performing the service you asked for (the account and backup), your consent (ad personalization and, where required, the account), and our legitimate interest in security and a free, working game.
4. Your mobile number
We use your mobile number only to let you sign back in on a new device. We do not call, text or market to it, and we do not share it. On our server it is turned into a one-way hash combined with a secret value that is kept separate from the database, so we cannot read the original number from what we store. Please choose a username that does not reveal your real name, because usernames are visible on the leaderboard.
5. Ads and consent
The app shows full-screen and rewarded video ads from Google AdMob. Google may collect and use device identifiers, IP address and ad interaction data to deliver and measure ads, and, with your consent, to personalize them. Their practices are described in Google’s advertising policy and Privacy Policy.
If you are in the EEA, the UK or another region that requires it, the app shows Google’s consent form on launch. You can change your choice any time in Settings → Privacy & ad settings. On Android you can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your device’s settings.
6. Who we share it with
- Google (AdMob, Google Play services and the consent form) for ads and app delivery.
- Our hosting provider, which stores the server database and logs on our behalf.
- Other players see your username, stars, streak and total time on the leaderboard.
- Authorities or advisers when the law requires it or to protect rights and safety.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not share your mobile number with anyone.
7. How long we keep it
Game data on your device stays until you clear the app’s storage or uninstall it. Account and backup data stay on our server while your account is active, and we delete them within 30 days of a verified deletion request. Server logs and sign-in attempt records are kept only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting. Google handles ad data under its own retention rules.
8. Your choices and rights
- Play without an account, or skip the sign-up prompt.
- Change ad consent in Settings, or reset your advertising ID on your device.
- Depending on where you live (for example the EEA, UK, or California), you may ask us to access, correct, export or delete your data, to object to or restrict certain use, and to withdraw consent. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
To use these rights, contact us as shown in section 13. We may need to confirm your username and mobile number to verify it is your account.
9. Delete your data
To delete your account and all cloud data (username, hashed mobile number, backup and leaderboard entries), email us from the address you can prove is yours, or reach us at the contact below, with the subject “Delete my Zip Quest account”. Include your username and the mobile number you registered. We will confirm and complete the deletion within 30 days. Progress stored only on your device is removed by clearing the app’s storage or uninstalling the app.
10. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets a higher age). We do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Security and transfers
Data sent to our server travels over HTTPS. We hash mobile numbers and sign-in tokens, limit failed sign-in attempts and restrict access to our systems. No method is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Our servers and Google’s may be in countries other than yours; where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for those transfers.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. The effective date above shows the latest version, and for significant changes we will tell you in the app or on this page.
